So I got back from my trip to Arizona Tuesday night and had an absolutely amazing time.  It was great to see my brothers, family, and spend some time in the state where I grew up!

I stayed with my Aunt and Uncle in their gorgeous house in the “Paradise Valley” area of Phoenix.  We went hiking one morning, and went on a walking tour of her neighbor hood another where I was able to take a few pictures of the houses in community.  Talk about a dream, most of these houses average about 10,000 sq/ft I think. 20130210_111932 20130212_112703 20130212_104945

In all honestly, being such a huge animal lover I find taxidermy a little freaky and slightly disturbing.  Sure, hanging trophies on walls is seen as decorative and definitely can create the much loved “lodge” look, but I just cannot condone it.  Here are some fun and funky alternatives to the real thing that you can actually feel good (and stylish) about!

Last year I stumbled upon a global project called the “Let’s Colour Project” and have been following the progress of this movement around the world.

India

It started in 2009 and is still going strong.  The goal is improve the lives of people living in less fortunate parts of the world through color!  Painting  rundown buildings and architectural elements in towns and cities around the world helps give a facelift to these communities.  The paints and supplies are donated by companies to keep the movement going.  Here is the website for more pictures and information.

So I haven’t been on an airplane in about 5 months and I am really getting the itch to travel!  Okay, so I am going to Boston in a few weeks for my best friend’s bachelorette party (I miss you Christy, I can’t wait to see you!)… but that’s not the type of traveling I’m talking about… I mean I need a new foreign destination.
