Lately I have become completely obsessed with Thom Filicia and his gorgeous textiles!  So I thought I would share…

Thom is a very talented Interior Designer based out of NY, with quite an impressive clientele (such as J.Lo, Tina Fey, and many sports and fashion icons).  He is known for his modern and innovative designs, which his new pillow and trow line for Easter Accents is just that!

Here are just some of my favorite fabrics from his collection.

These colors are just so perfect for Fall!

The Brant Chair made by Ethan Allen is one of the most versatile chairs I can find right now! The detailed carved repeating ball frame and fluted apron (taken from a 17th century design) can fall towards traditional or lean towards modern styling… it just depends on the fabric its upholstered in!

Here are some fun fabric-to-frames I came up with to help you visualize Brant’s potential!

By the way, Ethan Allen offers OVER 1000  fabrics AND 25 wood finishes for the frames- talk about custom!

Here is the link to Ethan Allen’s website where you can check out the chair for yourself.

I was shopping around Home Goods (what else is new?) and noticed that they had tons of cute little paper covered boxes everywhere!  I just loved the brightly colored prints, they kind of remind me of Vera Bradley.

These could be cute in a home office or a little girl’s bedroom for organization.

One of the pieces to the room puzzle that usually gets very little attention is the ceiling!  Okay, so we are very particular about the type of lighting that goes up there, but what about the actual finish, treatment, or texture of it?  Having a color or pattern on the ceiling can also give the illusion of elongating the walls and making the room feel larger by drawing the eye upwards. There are so many unexpected ways to treat your ceiling so it isn’t just boring white.

The Greek Key motif, a classic and historical motif.  Its geometric and modern, and it can be use in formal or casual designs.  Its so versitile!

Source: Johnathan Adler

I recently I have been incorporating a lot of geometric patterns into some of my designs, maybe because several of my newer clients are younger and prefer a more modern vibe over traditional?  Or maybe these projects are more casual than formal?  But I have also used this element in formal living rooms- So is there a way to define the Greek Key?
