I am totally hooked on discovering new outdoor furnishings and accents!  I can’t stop searching for pieces that I want to add to my newly furnished patio.  I think that it is unnecessary to have a rug for the size of my little patio, but I have found some gorgeous outdoor rugs that are really inspiring (I just love the color in my pavers too much to cover them up).

Lauren’s Rug Philosophy:

When it comes to interiors, I specify a rug for almost every project I work on… this is because I really feel that a rug defines a space, grounds the furniture in the room, and adds in color and texture.  This same idea can definitely still apply to outdoor spaces as well!

Here are some of the rugs I love!

The Chevron is a very bold pattern that can make a really strong impact on a room.  A Chevron (also spelt Cheveron) is an inverted “V” shaped pattern typically seen in repetition.

This pattern can sometimes be difficult to work with and isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly one to try to play around with!

If you don’t want to commit to incorporating it into your design completely, you can always bring the pattern in by using accents like pillows, blankets, rugs, and other smaller pieces that are easy to change out.

One of my favorite (and most subtle) ways  to use the Chevron is in a tile backsplash or a wood flooring.  Remember that the lighter the pattern, the less intense it will be as well.
