Now that it the crisp Fall air has finally settled in, its time to get those fireplaces roaring again!  I think that sitting in front of the fire at the end of a long day is possibly one of my favorite things.

And because the fireplace is usually the focal point in most rooms, decorating it for the Fall is just one more way to welcome in the best season of the year!  Here are the 3 key elements to a perfectly balanced and festive fireplace mantle…

#1 Centerpiece

Usually a large mirror or piece of art is the best place to start.

#2 Weight

Adding weight to the sides of the centerpiece is necessary to balance out the mantle.   Accessories such as candlesticks or twigs in a vase is a great way to add weight (and height).  Even hanging a collection of smaller pieces of art on the sides of your centerpiece is a creative idea!

#3 Filler

Filler can be anything from books, to smaller plants or vases, or seasonal fillers like leaves or pumpkins!  Usually placing a collection of objects looks great.
